Live Ledge #52: Valentine Girls

Click here to Read Original post

Ok, there’s a few items of business that needs to be discussed, but before we get to that we must talk about tonight’s amphetamine-driven show. I wanted to do an anti-Valentine’s Day show, but after Greg Lonesome’s fabulous episode of Rock ‘n’ Roll Manifesto I knew I had to come up with another theme. So why not another show featuring nothing but songs about girls? Yes, it’s been done before, but since the vast majority of songs are about lust and…uh, lust, it’s not that hard to create more episodes with no duplication.
Before you download this episode, though, we need to chat about the future of the show. No, I’m not going away, but there are going to be some changes in the near future. You’ve possibly heard my bitching about Mevio, and while the show is back live on that site all of us at Realpunkradio have banded together to create our own server. For the time being, I’ll be posting my shows on both Mevio and my new home (http://theledge.realpunkradio.com) but sometime in the near future the Mevio feed will go dead. When that happens, the original Ledge podcast in iTunes will not be updated. Instead, you’ll have to re-sub. There will be more information here as we get close to that day. For the time being, you can still grab this episode in iTunes, stream it on Stitcher or via The Ledge android/iPhone app, or nab a direct download HERE!

Random Old Records Podcast #40

Click here to Read Original post

Goddamn! 2012 is less than two months old, and there’s already so much kick-ass rock n’ roll coming out that it’s making my head spin! So yeah, this time around, Random Old Records Podcast #40 is an uninterrupted hour of straight-up jams, because there just wasn’t any room for the quirky soundbytes you all know and love. HAHA. This fat stack of tracks features one song each from the latest batch of HoZac Records releases, including The Band In Heaven, Radar Eyes, Teledrome, and Bare Mutants, which all rule as usual. Teledrome’s super-catchy electro-punk is the real gem this time around. Seriously, give this dude a proper studio and budget and he’ll be on the cover of magazines in a year. Mark my words!

Random Old Records #40 also features an EXCLUSIVE track from the upcoming second LP by killer Wisconsin garage punk duo The Hussy! It’s called “Mind Alright,” the LP is called Weed Seizure, and it’s set to be released by Tic Tac Totally sometime next month. This record is a monster folks, just check out the sick artwork by Ben Lyon below! Elsewhere, you’ll hear BRAND NEW tracks from upcoming releases by The Sugar Stems, Digital Leather, and Terry Malts, current tunes by Coasting, Gap Dream, Wiccans, The Pharmacy, and Gary Wrong, classics from the Angry Samoans and Teengenerate, and more, more, MORE!!! It all finishes up with a modern classic pop tune from former Lost Sounds and River City Tanlines frontwoman Alicja-Pop that will shake you up good if you’re paying attention. This is one of my favorite episodes I’ve coughed up in awhile, so I hope y’all dig it!

Also, has it really been a month since the last time I updated this blog? I’ve been writing full-force for Get Bent, running my nascent label, and working like a beast, so unfortunately the Random Old Records blog has suffered. But never fear! I’ll be updating this shit a lot more in the upcoming weeks, including expanded versions of my Get Bent reviews and plenty of other new stuff. Also, look for my label’s second release soon, the crucial second album from Cincinnati psychedelic garage rockers The Harlequins! As always, thanks so much for reading and listening. Hope spring will be here sooner instead of later!

New blog, new feed, etc. NEWS!

Click here to Read Original post

Listen up, folks! Big changes here at RnRManifesto HQ. First off, my old podcast host suspended a bunch of accounts a couple weeks ago, mine included. I got it back, but it’s just a matter of time until they give me the axe again. Not my fault, they are just money grubbing scumbags like most of society. So, I have a new host, and tonight’s episode will be uploaded to that new host. If you subscribe in iTunes, this SHOULD be a seamless transition, however, you may see all of the past episodes as new ones. They are not, it’s just because I changed the feed over. Hopefully that will be the only problem with iTunes. I guess we shall see.

If you subscribe through my feedburner feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/rocknrollmanifesto.xml), you should also be ok. That has been updated with the new information. If you subscribe through Mevio, you will have to change because I am no longer uploading shows there.

Also, I have a new blog home at http://rocknrollmanifesto.realpunkradio.com. I have forwarded my domain name (rnrmanifesto.com) to that blog and am trying to phase this one out so I don’t have to update two. If you are a follower of this blog, please update your subscription at the new blog.

Next week, February 15th, Stevie Tombstone will be live in the Rock N Roll Manifesto studio! Make sure you tune in for that, folks.

All for now. Thanks for listening.

A Super day out here on the left coast – just got back from a gathering of Football Geeks and immediately cracked open a 2010 Dona Paula Estate Malbec.
Loved this one last year – the 2009 vintage – and it continues to be a keeper.
Great earthy flavors in this one – vinted and bottled in Argentina’s Uco valley
Here’s the website —– Dona Paula
