2013 Charles Smith Boom Boom! Syrah

Nøgne Ø Terrapin Imperial Rye Porter

A glorious Spring (late Winter) day out here on the left coast.  It’s gonna hit 70 degrees here today.  I expected the weather to be a bit dreary, so opted for a nice dark beer.  I’ve got a Nøgne Ø Terrapin Imperial Rye Porter open this afternoon.  This beer is the result of a collaboration between Nøgne Ø Brewery located in Grimstad, Norway and the Terrapin Brewery located in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA.

The beer has a nice aroma – chocolate, cocoa and that wonderful spiciness of Rye.  On the tongue, the smoothness of the beer is highlighted with generous malt mouth feel and just a hint of tropical hops.  The ABV is 9.0% and it is sold in a 500ml bottle.
